Spring Series Focuses on “Interdisciplinary Innovations"

NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders), the largest national program designed to help improve care of hospitalized older adult patients, announces the introduction of the “Online Connect” webinar series. The initial spring series of five webinars focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration approaches for practice innovations. The series is based in part on requested “high risk” topics from NICHE program participants.

According to NICHE, the webinars are produced to help staff at NICHE designated sites and others learn about current methods in prevention and management of complications, best practice models, and implementation tools essential for addressing the unique needs of older hospitalized adults. Webinar participants can receive 1.0 “contact” hour per webinar for continuing education credits.

The webinars are free to NICHE sites; cost for non-NICHE sites is $99 for the first participant, $12.95 per additional participant. For webinar registration information, visit the website.

About NICHE

NICHE is one of the only national nursing organizations designed to help healthcare professionals in hospitals improve the care of older adults. NICHE hospitals seek to create an environment where older adult patients receive care that results in better outcomes. This climate of success encourages patients and their families to seek NICHE designated hospitals for their medical needs. The NICHE Network now numbers nearly 300 hospitals throughout North America.

NICHE is a program of The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing at NYU College of Nursing funded in part with generous support from Atlantic Philanthropies and The John A. Hartford Foundation. For more information visit www.nicheprogram.org.
