Harvard University economist and New York Times “Economix” blogger Edward L. Glaeser will be the featured lecturer on Wednesday, April 28 at the 2010 Henry Hart Rice Urban Policy Forum at NYU Wagner.
A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., while the lecture will be at 6:00 p.m. The Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service is located in the historic Puck Building, 295 Lafayette Street (@ Houston), 2nd Floor, New York, N.Y. With limited seating available, RSVP is required.
Professor Glaeser is the Fred and Eleanor Glimp Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, where he has taught since 1992. He is director of the Taubman Center for State and Local Government, and director of the Rappaport Institute of Greater Boston. He teaches urban and social economics and microeconomic theory, and has published dozens of papers on cities, economic growth, and law and economics. In particular, his work has focused on the determinants of city growth and the role of cities as centers of idea transmission. He is also the editor of the Economix Blog for The New York Times. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1992.
