Daniel Boulud, chef-owner of ten award-winning restaurants and the Feast & Fêtes catering company, is showcased in a new documentary film, Un Certain Goût de LAmérique: Daniel Boulud (Thierry Bellaïche, 2008, 49 min; in French with English subtitles), to be screened on Wednesday, September 23, 7 p.m., at the New York University Cantor Film Center, 36 E. 8th Street. The first public screening of the documentary, this event is presented by NYUs Maison Française. Tickets are $10; $5, for NYU students with ID. Over the past two decades, Boulud has evolved from a chef to a chef restaurateur, bringing his artistry to his New York City restaurants DANIEL, Café Boulud, DB Bistro Moderne, Bar Boulud, and DBGB Kitchen and Bar. In addition, he has created Café Boulud in Palm Beach and Daniel Boulud Brasserie in the Wynn Las Vegas Resort. In May 2008, he opened Maison Boulud in the Legation Quarter in Beijing China.
Bouluds culinary accolades include James Beard Foundation awards for Outstanding Restaurateur, Best Chef of New York City, and Outstanding Chef of the Year.
