NYU Transportation will restore service to the Route E bus stop at 14th Street during off-peak hours beginning Friday, September 25.
“The service reinstatement is the result of careful ridership monitoring,” said Fred Barlow, NYU’s assistant director for university transportation. “Our analysis, which began with the start of the academic year, showed that reinstatement was feasible without incurring any additional costs or environmental impacts.”
“More than 300 trips will again stop at 14th Street each week,” Barlow added. “Based upon ridership feedback to date, this is a welcome addition to the overall Route E schedule.”
Off-peak service hours are from 8 PM to midnight on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, and all day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Buses will stop in the MTA’s bus stop locations that provide service to its Routes M101, M102 and M103.
Route E trips during peak hours, from 7 AM to 8 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, will stop at 14th Street upon request exclusively to provide service to disabled passengers.
Schedule modifications will be placed on the Campus Transportation website (http://www.nyu.edu/public.safety/transportation) on Friday, September 25.
Barlow has contacted IRHC student services committee chairpersons to notify them of the reinstatement, and the Transportation division is posting flyers in the 14th Street area residence halls.
