Author-actor Eric Bogosian will read from his new novel, Perforated Heart, on Thursday, September 17, at 7 p.m. at New York University’s Cantor Film Center, Theater 101, 36 E. 8th Street. The reading, hosted by the NYU Creative Writing Program Fall Reading Series, is free and open to the public. Bogosian is the author of three novels, several films, and numerous award-winning works for the theater. For the past several years, he has co-starred as Captain Danny Ross on the long-running television series, “Law and Order: CI.”

Bogosian’s best-known work is Talk Radio in which he starred Off-Broadway and in the Oliver Stone film of the same name. He was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for the original stage version, and he received the prestigious Berlin Film Festival’s Silver Bear for the film. His other plays include subUrbia and 1+ 1. He is also well known for a series of six Off-Broadway solo shows which he performed off–Broadway between 1980 and 2000. For these he was awarded three OBIE awards as well as the Drama Desk award. The solos, including Drinking in America, Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll, and Pounding Nails in Floor with Forehead, are produced around the world and have become a mainstay of the American theater repertory.

Perforated Heart, Bogosian’s third novel to be published by Simon & Schuster, was released in May. His other novels include Wasted Beauty and Mall.
