An exhibition of approximately 70 works created by the faculty and staff of the Department of Photography and Imaging in the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at New York University s Tisch School of the Arts will open October 23 and run through November 21, 2009.

An exhibition of approximately 70 works created by the faculty and staff of the Department of Photography and Imaging in the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at New York Universitys Tisch School of the Arts will open October 23 and run through November 21, 2009. The show comprises a wide range of perspectives and media, including but not limited to traditional black-and-white and color photographs, publications, net art, video, painting, and multi-media installations. The exhibition explores contemporary images and themes related to family, abstract nature, fantasy, inter-plays with light, childhood memory, and the body.
Entitled, Faculty & Staff Exhibition 2009-2010, the exhibition is on view in three parts at two locations: 12 works can be seen in the street level vitrines at the Helen & Martin Kimmel Center for University Life, located at the corner of LaGuardia Place and West Third Street, and are visible at all times; the remainder of the works are divided between the Gulf and Western Gallery (main floor, rear of lobby) and the Department of Photography & Imaging Gallery (8th floor), located at 721 Broadway, open from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The Department of Photography & Imaging is an intensive four-year BFA program centered on the making and understanding of images. It is a diverse department embracing multiple perspectives. The students work in virtually all modes of analog, digital, and multimedia photo-based image making, exploring photo-based imagery as personal and cultural expression.
