New York University and Manhattan Community Board 2 will host hundreds of children, moms, and dads at the 19th Annual Greenwich Village Children’s Halloween Parade. Saturday, October 31, 2009; marchers start gathering at 1:00pm; parade begins at 1:15pm; Following the parade, the children will be treated to candy, face-painting, rides and live entertainment, including a special performance by the Off-Broadway children’s smash hit, The Gazillion Bubble Show.

19th Annual Greenwich Village Children’s Halloween Parade
WHAT: New York University and Manhattan Community Board 2 will host hundreds of children, moms, and dads at the 19th Annual Greenwich Village Children’s Halloween Parade. Led by the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps. Marching Band, children and families will march around Washington Square Park. Following the parade, the children will be treated to candy, face-painting, rides and live entertainment, including a special performance by the Off-Broadway children’s smash hit, The Gazillion Bubble Show.
The Grand Marshals for the parade will be:

- Rebecca Ferguson, Washington Square Park and Union Square Park Administrator,
- Mia Haas, daughter of William Haas, NYU’s Director of Planning
WHEN: Saturday, October 31, 2009; marchers start gathering at 1:00pm; parade begins at 1:15pm; festivities end at 4:00pm
WHERE: The parade assembles along Washington Square North, near the Arch and ends at LaGuardia between Washington Square South and West 3rd Street where various activities await the children.

The parade provides very good, cute, daylight shots of kids in costumes parading around the park accompanied by parents, and is a good complement for coverage of the adult parade.
The afternoon will conclude with Washington Square Park performances by The Gazillion Bubble Show (approx. 1:45 p.m.) and NYU students- including NYU music groups, cheerleaders, and dance teams-followed by the distribution of treats
