New York University’s Catalan Center, in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects (AIA-NY), will present a Design Literary Retreat entitled A City of One’s Own: Architecture & Urbanism as Cultural Heritage in Barcelona, with Eulàlia Bosch. The event will be held on Monday, November 2, at 6:30 p.m at the AIA-NY, Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place, New York, N.Y.

This lecture will explore how a space can be transformed into a hallmark of community life. This process can be exemplified in the way Barcelona emerges as a presence through Gaudí’s Casa Milà, the urban grid of the Eixample, and the Labyrinth of Horta. Eulàlia Bosch will offer examples of the mediums through which this knowledge can be transmitted to city dwellers.

Eulàlia Bosch (Barcelona 1949), is a lecturer in Philosophy, and a Curator and Program designer for Education and the Arts.
