With a 24/7 news cycle and more media sites than ever, Abramson asks, why is rigorous reporting crucial to the maintenance of an informed, civil society? In her lecture, she will outline how the New York Times has adapted and maintained its standards in a rapidly changing industry.

Abramson, who previously served as the paper’s Washington bureau chief, is the co-author of two books, Strange Justice: The Selling of Clarence Thomas and Where They Are Now.
