Joyce Antler, a professor at Brandeis University, will deliver “A Moment in Time: Radical Feminism and Jewish Women,” a public lecture sponsored by New York University’s Goldstein-Goren Center for American Jewish History, on Sunday, March 8, 3 P.M. at NYU’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center [Screening Room] (53 Washington Square South, between Sullivan and Thompson Streets). Subway Lines: A, C, D, E, F (West 4th Street).

The lecture is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to 212.998.8981 or gsas.hebrewjudaic@nyu.edu by March 6.

Antler explores the significance of Jewish women’s participation in the radical feminist movement of the late 1960s and 1970s. Why, despite their outstanding contributions, she asks, have these women remained historically invisible? How are their goals and actions related to the more explicitly Jewish-identified feminist movements of later years?

Antler, a visiting research fellow at the Goldstein-Goren Center of American Jewish History at NYU, is the Samuel Lane Professor of American Jewish History and Culture at Brandeis University. She is the author or editor of 10 books, including The Journey Home: How Jewish Women Shaped Modern America, and You Never Call! You Never Write: A History of the Jewish Mother.
