Professors Dedicate Lectures and Panel Discussions to the Environment
On Feb. 5th, New York Universitys Sustainability Taskforce, in partnership with the Environmental Studies department will be taking part in the National Teach-In (www.nationalteachin.org) - a nationwide event that encourages resolution-driven dialogue about the environment in colleges, high schools, middle schools, faith groups, civic organizations and businesses. The nationwide Teach-In event is set to correspond with the first 100 days of the new administration, and promotes action and solutions to the environmental debate.
NYU faculty are being asked to participate in the national Teach-In by dedicating class lectures for one day to an environmental issue within their subject matter, in order to foster thinking about practical solutions. Professors from the Environmental Studies Program will also lead an engaging afternoon of panel discussions. Representatives in congress will be joining the dialogue via videoconferencing, connecting students and educators directly with leaders. The event will conclude with a performance by Reverend Billy and his Stop Shopping Gospel Choir.
