One Night Performance Targets L.A. Entertainment Industry for Emerging Alumni Talent
New York University Tisch School of the Arts (TSOA) has announced the New Writers Showcase will introduce five emerging writers-graduates of the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing-at its March 2 showcase. The featured playwrights are Casey Fisher, Lauren Goldenberg, Nzinga Kadalie-Kemp, Ruth McKee, and Andrea Wachner. Each will present an original ten-minute play featuring well-known and up-and-coming actors who are alumni of TSOAs top-ranked Graduate Acting Program and Undergraduate Drama Department. Included are: Victor Williams (King of Queens, Deacon Palmer), Deirdre Lovejoy (The Wire, Asst. States Attorney Rhonda Pearlman) and Jason Ritter (The Class, Ethan Haas). Directors include alumni Kyle Newman (Fanboys, The Hollow), Millicent Shelton (Cavemen, Everybody Hates Chris), and Emmy Award-winner Jeremy Kagan (Chicago Hope, Picket Fences, The West Wing).
In addition, the evening will debut the premiere of a new short play by bestselling novelist and Tisch alumnus, Christopher Rice (Density of Souls, Blind Fall), directed by alumnus Andy Fleming (Nancy Drew, Hamlet 2). The evening will be hosted by alumnus Peter Krause (Dirty Sexy Money, Six Feet Under) with a special appearance by alumnus Rainn Wilson (The Office).

The one-night showcase is a co-production of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, The Tisch West Alumni Council, the NYU Writers Lab West, and The Tisch Grad Collective.
