Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Bill T. Jones will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company in a retrospective dialogue with long-time collaborators at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University.

Entitled Bill T. Jones 25th Anniversary Retrospective: A Conversation with Collaborators, the evening will explore the creative process and the collaborations behind the artist. Audience members will have a rare opportunity to hear directly from some of the creative minds that have helped shape the landscape of contemporary dance and performance over the past quarter century.

Bill T. Jones 25th Anniversary Retrospective: A Conversation with Collaborators will take place for one night only Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.skirballcenter.nyu.edu, by phone (212) 352-3101, or at the box office from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Closely following the success of Spring Awakening and Fela!, as well as a feature on the HBO documentary, The Black List, Vol. 1, Bill T. Jones returns to the Skirball Center along with creative director/set designer Bjorn Amelan, associate artistic director and video designer Janet Wong, bandleader and composer Chris Lancaster, lighting designer Robert Wierzel, and costume designer Liz Prince. The internationally renowned dance company has performed worldwide in over 200 cities in 30 countries. Today, the Harlem-based group is recognized as one of the most innovative and powerful forces in the modern dance world.

This event is one of Skirball’s “Beyond the Classroom Series,” which seeks to incorporate education into the arts and student life by connecting the stage to the page through lectures, symposia, performances, and workshops. A learning experience like any other, this conversation delves deeper than any performance currently being offered. Widely acclaimed for his company’s performance engagements and much sought after as a lecturer, rarely has Jones offered such an intimate presentation into his artistic history. Bill T. Jones 25th Anniversary Retrospective: A Conversation with Collaborators is considered a once in a lifetime opportunity for anyone with an interest in the performing arts to celebrate 25 spectacular years of one of the world’s most creative forces.
