New York University will host “Conversations: Meeting the Mayoral Candidates,” a series of four discussions with candidates for New York City mayor in 2009. The series begins with Councilmember Tony Avella on Wednesday, April 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at NYU’s Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts (715 Broadway, 1st floor, at Washington Place). All four conversations are free and open to the public, which must RSVP at http://www.nyu.edu/rsvp/series.php?s_id=160. For more information, call 212.998.2400.
The conversations series will introduce students to the New York City mayoral candidates through one-on-one discussions focusing on their personal histories, influences, and goals, as well as their visions for the future of New York City. The exchanges are designed to provide an intimate discourse with each candidate, allowing for a better understanding of the person behind the politics. Each participating candidate will also engage in a question-and-answer session with the audience.
The series is sponsored by NYU’s Office of Government and Community Affairs.
