A series of poetry readings will take place during the spring semester at New York University’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center, located at 53 Washington Square South. Curated by Lila Zemborain of NYU’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages, the events are free and open to the public (photo ID required for admission). On Friday, January 25, at 6:15 p.m., Hofstra Hispanic Review/Revista de Literatura y Cultura Hispánica presents “Contemporary Spanish Poetry,” issue #4, and “Contemporary Venezuelan Literature,” issue #5, edited by Antonio López Ortega. These publications are introduced by the Review’s director Miguel Angel Zapata and Marta López-Luaces. The reading is in Spanish.

On Friday, February 29, at 6:15 p.m., two Catalan poets, Anna Aguilar-Amat from Barcelona and Arnau Pons from Majorca, will read from their work. The reading will be introduced by Melción Mateu. The reading will be bilingual, in Catalan and Spanish. It is co-sponsored by the Institut Ramon Llull and The Catalan Center at NYU.

On Friday, March 28, at 6:15 p.m., two Spanish poets will read: Jorge de Arco from Madrid and José María Antolín from Valladolid. The reading is in Spanish.

On Friday, April 11, at 6:15 p.m., Venezuelan poet Edda Armas and Peruvian poet Carmen Ollé will read in Spanish.
