Prominent Arts School To Play Host to a Record Number of Alumni Attached to Films in the Festival at a Cocktail Reception in Park City, Utah
NYU Tisch School of the Arts will mark its 15th year at the Sundance Film Festival with a private reception in Park City, Utah, to celebrate a record-breaking number of Tisch alumni, students, and faculty-some 170-impacting more than 25% of the films. Of the more than 200 films to be screened at Sundance, 17 are directed by alumni. Alumni have graduated from Tisch’s Kanbar Institute of Film and Television and the Institute of Performing Arts.
The Tisch@Sundance Party, hosted by Mary Schmidt Campbell, dean of the Tisch School of the Arts, and Mitchell Glatt, Dean’s Council member, along with his wife Randy Glatt, will be held at Zoom, 660 Main Street, Park City, UT, on Saturday, January 19, 2008, from 3 to 5 P.M. The event is private and by invitation only.
Alumni with films expected to attend the Tisch@Sundance Party are: Joe Bini, BFA ‘86, screenwriter (Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired); Margaret Brown, MFA ‘04, director and screenwriter (The Order of Myths); Nanette Burstein, BFA ‘94 & MFA ‘04, director, screenwriter, and producer (American Teen); Ryan Fleck, BFA ‘00, director and screenwriter (Sugar); Clark Gregg, BFA ‘86, director, screenwriter, and actor (Choke); Jason Ritter, BFA ‘02, producer and actor (Good Dick); and Morgan Spurlock, BFA ‘94, director, screenwriter, and producer (Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?), among many others.
