New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia will offer a non-credit certificate course in filmmaking at its new campus in Singapore beginning summer 2008. The Singapore course is based on the certificate program in New York, which is now in its sixth year. In addition to the certificate course this summer, Tisch Asia will also offer three new weekend workshops and two week-long seminars. Enrollment opens February 4, 2008.

The new certificate program comprises three six-week-long courses: sight & sound film production, writing for the screen, and a color sync workshop. Offered May 20-June 27, and June 30-Aug 7, it is designed for individuals interested in professional filmmaking. Students that complete the course requirements within one summer, or two successive summers, will be awarded a professional certification.

The new summer weekend workshops are in cinematography, writing for film & TV, and producing. The new summer week-long seminars are digital filmmaking and entrepreneurship and the entertainment business. Faculty from the Tisch School of the Arts New York as well as a number of successful alumni working in the industry will lead the summer classes. All coursework will be conducted in English.

Individuals may enroll in a single course, workshop, or seminar and do not have to pursue a certification. For more information about professional certification requirements, course descriptions, and how to enroll, please visit: www.tischasia.nyu.edu.sg.

Tisch Asia currently offers students the opportunity to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in film production, and will offer MFA degrees in Animation and Digital Arts and Dramatic Writing in 2008. The School has a diverse faculty of distinguished writers, directors, and producers, all with ties to the industry.
