WHAT: NYU will break ground on its new, state-of-the art, environmentally friendly co-generation plant, to be built underground on Mercer Street between West 3rd and West 4th Streets. A major component of NYUs sustainability efforts, the facility will reduce regulated pollutants by 75 percent and decrease greenhouse pollutants by over 5,000 tons annually. The project has been endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and by Community Board 2.
