NEW YORK (September 5, 2007)-New York Universitys George H. Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, part of the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (www.scps.nyu.edu), has recently been named an approved provider of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) International certifications.
CFRE International offers the only internationally recognized baseline professional credential for philanthropic fundraising executives. The Heyman Centers partnership with CFRE International will allow students to take courses necessary for preparing for the CFRE exam. NYU is the only university in New York that is an approved provider of the CFRE International certification.
CFRE Internationals naming of NYUs Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising as an approved provider is a welcome recognition of the high quality of our continuing education courses and programs for fundraising professionals, said Lewis Brindle, the Centers director.
Since its founding eight years ago, the Heyman Center has aimed to support the increasing professionalism in this fast-growing field by offering in-depth education in such areas as nonprofit management and finance, the law and ethics, and current technological trends. Now that NYU can offer students the opportunity to earn their CFRE designation-the gold standard in the field-allows us to better serve them and the Centers mission.
