New York University’s Jazz Studies Program will showcase its world-renowned faculty, including “Saturday Night Live” saxophonist Lenny Pickett, and their students in a series of December performances at Cachaca Jazz ‘n’ Samba Club (35 West 8th St. [east of 6th Ave.]), running from Dec. 2 through Dec. 18. All performances are 7 to 9 p.m., with the exception of Dec. 11 (sets at 8 and 10:30 p.m.). Each performance is $5.

“Jazz music is alive and well in Greenwich Village due to the efforts of Cachaca to nurture the next generation of jazz artists,” said David Schroeder, director of Jazz Studies at NYU.
