Offenbach’s operetta offers a take on Orpheus’ journey into the underworld in pursuit of his wife, Eurydice, who had been captured by Pluto and taken to Hades. This show includes lively musical numbers and encounters characters from nymphs to gods and goddesses to shepherds.
NYU’s production will be directed by Martha Collins, with music direction by Grant Wenaus. The cast and orchestra will feature the undergraduate and graduate students from NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions.
