The panel will also include former New York Times ombudsman Daniel Okrent, NYU Professor of Journalism and media critic Jay Rosen, and NYU Professor of Journalism and investigative reporter Adam Penenberg. It will consider a range of questions: What will a journalist’s life look like five years from today? How will journalists reach audiences in the digital age? What effect will continued media conglomeration have on the lives of working journalists? Will the Internet remain a relatively free medium, or will telecommunications companies win more control over how we access information? What will our audiences expect of us, and what will we expect of them? Or will “Citizen Journalism” and new technology finally eliminate the distinction between the journalist and the audience?
Journalists interested in attending should contact James Devitt, NYU’s Office of Public Affairs, at 212.998.6808 or james.devitt@nyu.edu.
