On Friday, January 26, at 7 p.m., Washington Square Review, the semi-annual literary journal published by New York University’s Graduate Creative Writing Program, will celebrate the publication of its Winter 2007 issue with a benefit reading and reception at Mo Pitkin’s House of Satisfaction, 34 Avenue A, Manhattan. The winners of the 2006-07 fiction and poetry contest will be announced at that time as well.

On January 26 contributors will read from the current issue, which includes work by Philip Levine and Lauren Groff. Washington Square Review is an innovative, non-profit, nationally distributed literary journal publishing fiction, poetry, and essays by emerging and established writers. Recent contributors include Billy Collins, Mark Doty, Diane Glancy, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Jessica Hagedorn, Brenda Hillman, David Lehman, Rick Moody, Sharon Olds, and Marie Ponsot.
