Karen Greenberg, executive director of the Center on Law and Security at New York University’s School of Law, is available for comment on the U.S. inspector general’s report on the inaccuracy of terrorism-related statistics. The U.S. Justice Department’s inspector general announced on Feb. 20 that nearly all of the terrorism-related statistics reported by the department and the FBI from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks through early 2005 had some inaccuracies.
In December, the Center on Law and Security released The Terrorist Trial Report Card: U.S. Edition (TTRC), which showed that the actions of the Justice Department-while focused on early detection and disruption of alleged terrorism and its prosecution practices- have revealed that there are few, if any, prevalent terrorist threats within the United States. The full PDF of the report card is available on www.lawandsecurity.org.
