NYU’s Dentistry/Nursing Collaboration Teaches DDS Students to Medically Assess Dental Patients

New York University s College of Dentistry (NYUCD) and College of Nursing (NYUCN) have initiated a new collaborative program aimed at educating and training Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) students to medically assess their patients. The program, aimed at whole health, highlights the unique capability of dental care providers to recognize and follow-up on patient s general health problems.
NYU College of Dentistry Names Dr. Cosmo V. DeSteno Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs

Dr. Cosmo V. DeSteno, formerly Associate Dean for Extramural Affairs at the University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey Dental School, has been named Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the NYU College of Dentistry, effective December 1, 2007. Dr. DeSteno succeeds Dr. Francis V. Panno, who is retiring as Professor Emeritus of Prosthodontics after five years as Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and nearly 30 years at NYU in positions that for many years included Professor and Chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics.
