Aram Sinnreich, a media and entertainment industry analyst and co-founder and managing partner of Radar Research, a media and technology consultancy, will join the faculty at New York University as a visiting assistant professor fall 2007.
Aram Sinnreich, a media and entertainment industry analyst and co-founder and managing partner of Radar Research, a media and technology consultancy, will join the faculty at New York University as a visiting assistant professor this fall. Sinnreich, named one of the 15 Innovators and Influencers of 2001 by InformationWeek, will be part of NYUs Department of Media, Communication, and Culture, which is in the universitys Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
As a senior analyst at Jupiter Research in New York for more than five years (1997-2002), Sinnreich produced research covering the online music and media industries and provided strategic consulting to companies ranging from Time Warner to Microsoft to Heineken. He has also written about music and the media industry for publications including the New York Times, Billboard, Wired News, Truthdig, and American Quarterly. He has also served as an expert witness in several court cases, including the recent Supreme Court file sharing suit MGM v. Grokster.
Sinnreich has appeared on ABCs World News Tonight, the CBS Early Show with Bryant Gumbel, NBCs Today Show, CNN, CNBC, MTV, BBC Radio, and Fuji TV.
Sinnreich holds a bachelors degree in English from Wesleyan University, a masters degree in journalism from Columbia University, and a masters degree in communication from USC Annenberg, where he is currently completing his doctorate.
