Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke addressed at audience at NYU’s School of Law on April 11, 2007. During the speech, Bernanke supported existing light regulation of hedge funds because, he contended, such a system is working and because hedge funds bring “social benefits— the provision of market liquidity, improved risk-sharing, and support for financial and economic innovation, among others.”
