New York University’s Center for Career Education and Life Planning offers Think Fast, Act Fast, Fight Smart!, an exciting two-hour personal safety workshop starting this fall.

In this workshop, personal safety and crime prevention specialist, Susan Bartelstone, teaches participants how to make safe decisions quickly under pressure, avoid being selected as a target, defuse confrontations safely, and use strategy to put the odds in your favor during a fight.

A variety of crime scenarios are discussed, including: car-jackings, muggings, and home break-ins. Though the workshop is geared towards women, everyone is welcome to attend.

There is a $60 fee for the Think Fast, Act Fast, Fight Smart! workshop. This workshop will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. at NYU’s 48 Cooper Square location. About Susan Bartelstone

A 15-year teaching veteran, Susan Bartelstone has received crime training from such law enforcement agencies as the FBI, the New York State Department of Justice, and the Long Island Association of Crime Prevention. Ms. Bartelstone has 17-years combined training in close quarters combat, defensive tactics, and martial arts. She is also the director of The Safety Solutions Company (www.fightsafe.com) and is certified in crime prevention. Recently, Ms. Bartelstone was featured on the Today Show, for a segment on self defense. Other TV appearances include: the New York City Marathon’s Starting Line program, America’s Most Wanted, and Survival Guide, NBC’s award-winning special.
