NYU CONFERENCE ON TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS FOR OLDER ADULTS WILL FEATURE NEW U.S. TRANSIT ADMINISTRATOR JAMES S. SIMPSON

EVENT WILL BE CONVENED TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

A major conference on the transportation concerns and needs of older adults will be held at New York University on Tuesday, September 26, from 8 am - 12:30 pm. James S. Simpson, the newly installed Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, will be the keynote speaker.

The event, titled “Good to Go: Transit Options for Older Adults,” is sponsored by: the Rudin Center for Transportation Policy & Management at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service; AARP; the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council; the Metropolitan Transportation Authority; the NYU Wagner Institute for Civil Infrastructure Systems; and the University Transportation Research Center Region 2.

In addition to James S. Simpson, featured speakers include Marcus Harazin, Assistant Director, Division of Local Program Operations, New York State Office for the Aging; William W. Miller, President, American Public Transportation Association; Thomas C. Nelson, Chief Operating Officer, AARP; Lawrence C. Salley, Commissioner, Westchester County Department of Transportation; William Wheeler, Director of Special Project Development and Planning, Metropolitan Transportation Authority; Neil S.
