Massimo D’Alema, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, will speak on “E.U. and Italian Foreign Policy Post 9/11: Challenges and Opportunities of a New Leadership Role in the Middle East” on Thursday, September 21, at 5:30 p.m., at New York University’s Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, 24 W. 12th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues).
With moderator Alexander Stille, professor of journalism at Columbia University, he will discuss Italy’s role in forging a new E.U.-U.S. partnership, the economic implications of a changing global balance of power, and whether institutional change in the E.U. is necessary, inevitable, or just a possibility.
