The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, Staged by NYU’s Department of Drama, In a Limited Run at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts
Performance Dates: October 18-21, 2006
The musical HAIR made its world premiere in 1967 in the East Village. Now, nearly 40 years later, the Department of Drama at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts will bring it back in a limited-run engagement of only five performances.
HAIR features book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. With electrifying rock and roll music, experimental theatrics, and a glabrous cast, the NYU production, directed by Ruben Polendo with musical direction by Todd Almond and choreography by Scott Spahr, has a cast of 28 undergraduate actors all from the Department of Drama at the Tisch School of the Arts.
Performance dates and times for HAIR are October 18, 19, 20 at 8 PM; and October 21 at 2 PM and 8 PM. Tickets: $20, $10 (NYU students and seniors).
