Join hospitals from across the country by attending the 10th annual NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health-system Elders) Conference on February 5-8, 2007. NICHE is a national program that seeks to help hospitals make system-wide changes to improving the care they provide to older adults.

February 5-6: A two-day Leadership Conference will introduce new participants to the NICHE concept and “Tool Kit.” Experienced NICHE site representatives will explain how NICHE systematically benefits staff, patients, and health systems, and describe the basics of implementing a NICHE program.

February 7: A Clinical Update Conference will provide cutting-edge, research-based nursing practice linking national research to direct care on subjects including dementia, depression, and delirium; nutritional care of older adults; trauma; cancer symptom control in the older adult; care of the fractured hip; and effective nurse communication across settings.

February 8: The annual User Conference brings together experience NICHE sites for discussions of sustaining and building a Geriatric Resource Nurse Program, fall prevention, and dementia responsiveness, among other topics.

Location: New York Marriott Financial Center Downtown, 85 West Street.
