- WHAT: NYU’s Edgar Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life is honored to announce that Paul Rusesabagina who saved 1,200 lives during the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 and whose heroism was the basis for the movie “Hotel Rwanda” will give the inaugural lecture of the annual Selma Ruben Distinguished Lecture Series. Each lecture explores an aspect of Jewish life values through the prism of the distinguished lecturer’s experience and expertise; this lecture is intended to explore tzedek, or social justice.
