New York University’s College of Nursing’s 2006 Commencement Exercises will be held Monday, May 8, 2006 at 11AM in The New Amsterdam Theatre, 214 West 42nd Street, NYC. Dr. Antonia Novello, Commissioner, New York State Department of Health, will deliver the graduation’s Keynote Address.

This is the first commencement for nursing students at NYU as a College after nearly 75 years as a division within The Steinhardt School of Education. The nursing division was elevated to the stature of a College of Nursing, located at the NYU College of Dentistry, in September 2005.
The 2006 award recipients include:
Dr. Antonia Novello, Commissioner, New York State Department of Health, will receive the Helen Manzer Award in recognition of outstanding leadership on behalf of improved health for the American people.
Judith S. Giuliani, RN, a managing director of Changing Our World, Inc., will receive the New York University College of Nursing Humanitarian Award in recognition of outstanding humanitarian efforts on behalf of the people of New York.
Susan Bowar-Ferres, PhD, RN, will receive the Distinguished Clinical Leadership Award in recognition of outstanding contributions as a clinical leader.
