NEW YORK—Louis Capozzi, chairman of the Publicis Public Relations & Corporate Communications Group, has been appointed an adjunct professor in the M.S. in Public Relations and Corporate Communications program at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (www.scps.nyu.edu).

Capozzi will begin in the summer 2006 semester, teaching a six-week class on “Public Relations Consulting.”

A recognized industry expert, Capozzi brings to the classroom over 30 years experience working at major public relations firms and with large multinational companies. Formerly chairman and CEO of Manning, Selvage & Lee (MS&L), Capozzi now supervises all of the PR networks of the Publicis Groupe (including MS&L). Before joining MS&L he was VP of corporate communications at Aetna.

Launched in fall 2005, NYU-SCPS’s graduate PR program already has 64 enrolled students. Capozzi joins a faculty of other leading industry practitioners-including Fraser Seitel, advisor to the Rockefeller family and author of the seminal textbook The Practice of Public Relations; Helio Fred Garcia, executive director, Logos Institute for Crisis Management and Executive Leadership; and John Doorley, director of the M.S. program and former head of corporate communications at Merck.

In the academic arena, Capozzi was an adjunct professor of marketing at The University of Haverford and a guest lecturer at the Wharton Graduate Business School’s Fellows program. He holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and journalism from New York University, and an MBA in finance from the Bernard Baruch Graduate School of Business at City College.
