New York University will be a sponsor of the Washington Square Park Summer Program. The series, organized by the Washington Square Park Council, brings unique activities such as belly dancing, fireless fireworks, comedy troupes, quiet discos, an array of children’s programming and more to Washington Square Park. The programming, which runs throughout the week until September 9th, is free and open to the public.
On Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on the Southeast Plaza Stage, NYU jazz, classical, and pep bands perform. The NYU musical performances run until August 30th.
- Wednesdays: The Best of NYU’s Jazz and Classical Chamber Groups NYU’s award-winning ensembles bring you styles from bebop to Latin for a swinging Wednesday lunch hour.
- Fridays: NYU Pep Band Funk, rock, Motown, and a few surprises keep your Friday lunch hour hot.
