New York University will host “How to Look at Art: Black Arts, Black Cultures, and Black Aesthetics,” on Sat., Feb. 4, 3:30-5:30 p.m. at NYU’s Lipton Auditorium in D’Agostino Hall (108 West 3rd Street, betw. MacDougal and Sullivan Sts.). Renowned photographer Deborah Willis, a professor at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Faculty of Arts and Science, will provide the introduction. Panelists include: Lisa Collins, associate professor, Art History and Africana Studies, Vassar College; Deborah Cullen, director of curatorial programs, El Museo del Barrio; Ed Guerrero, associate professor, Cinema Studies, Tisch School of the Arts. The discussion will be moderated by Angela Dillard, an associate professor at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and director of Africana Studies.
