“Festcine,” an international short film festival with participation of entries from Spanish, Latin American, and North American film schools and universities, will take place at New York University’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center, located at 53 Washington Square South, in February. Films will be screened on Tuesday evenings, beginning February 7, at 7:15 p.m. The screenings are free and open to the public. For further information call 212.998.3650 or visit www.nyu.edu/kjc. This event is co-sponsored by The Fundación Cristobal Gabarrón, a Spanish non-profit foundation whose mission it is to promote culture in all its forms and expressions.
Participating schools and universities include: ECAM (Madrid, Spain), CECC (Barcelona, Spain), Escuela de Cine de Ponferrada (Ponferrada, Spain), Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires, Argentina), CUEC-UNAM (Mexico), North Carolina School of the Arts, Florida State University, The University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA), Columbia College (Chicago, IL), and Dodge College of Film and Media Arts (Orange, CA).

Additionally, a showcase of short films made by NYU Tisch School of the Arts students is in the planning stage and tentatively scheduled for March 7.
