Panelists include the following: NYU Professor Deborah Willis, an art photographer whose published works include Family, History, and Memory: Recording African-American Life (2005); Salah Hassan, a professor of art history at Cornell University and founder and editor of NKA: Journal of Contemporary African Art; curator Simon Njami, and artist Marc Latamie (moderator). The event is being held in conjunction with the Institute’s current exhibition, “BAMAKO BREATHLESS: Photo Album by Mamadou M’Baye.”
