Rae Zimmerman is a professor of planning and public administration at New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and, since 1998, director of the Institute for Civil Infrastructure Systems based at the graduate school. Her research focuses on infrastructure-related risks from catastrophic events.

Professor Zimmerman is available for comment on how the electricity systems and related infrastructure of major urban areas across the country are being affected by the current extreme heat spell.
