• WHAT: What happens when you team up NYU business and film graduate students to create a short film on the transformative power of broadband? Join us at the ProMotion Pictures’ Verizon Broadband Film Competition for the exclusive premiere of the three winning films that offer bright and unique interpretations of broadband. The event will have the feel of a classic Hollywood premiere gala. After viewing the films and hearing from executives from Verizon, NYU, R/GA and, of course, the filmmakers, guests will enjoy appetizers and light beverages as they meet the student teams. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the new Web site dedicated to this project and learn about other stories inspired by the use of broadband in everyday life, a la BroadbandStories.com.
  • WHO: Executives from Verizon, including Jerri Devard, Senior VP Marketing Communications, and Amy Rubenstein, VP Marketing Communications, NYU Stern and NYU Tisch Kanbar students, faculty, and administration, and representatives from R/GA, including Bob Greenberg, Chairman, CEO & Chief Creative Officer.
  • WHY: Branded entertainment is one of the latest communication tools used by marketers to engage and connect with consumers. Verizon’s sponsorship of the second annual ProMotion Pictures’ Film Competition united future business and creative leaders—Stern MBA candidates and Tisch Kanbar filmmakers—to collaborate and develop branded films for Verizon. Three winning teams were each awarded $40,000 by Verizon to transform their broadband-inspired ideas into short films. This competition provides insensitive to develop branded entertainment. The films will be used by Verizon to communicate the power of broadband in enriching lives.
