WHAT:
The NYU Center for Publishing at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies presents a special one-day seminar, “Custom Publishing: State of the Art and State of the Business-2005” that was developed in partnership with the Custom Publishing Council to be held on Thursday, November 17th at the NYU Midtown Center.
This one-day seminar explores the newest trends and techniques in custom publishing - the creation and delivery of specialized editorial content to targeted audiences, such as in-flight magazines or specially created customer e-newsletters.
According to the CPC, corporate America produces more than 116,000 unique custom publications annually and spends $30 billion each year doing so - making the industry similar in size to these media sectors: consumer magazine publishing, radio and network television.
The growth of the custom publishing sector has outpaced that of other marketing tactics with regularity. Last year 13.2 percent of the average corporate marketing budget was spent on custom publishing, up from 11.1 percent the prior year. Forty percent of companies plan to spend more on custom publishing next year.
