New York University’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center will host a dialogue, “The Effects of Terrorism on World Capitals,” on Mon., Nov.. 14, 6-8 p.m., at NYU’s Silver Center for Arts and Science (Hemmerdinger Hall, 100 Washington Square East). Participants include the following: Luis Rojas Marcos, a psychiatrist at NYU’s School of Medicine; Javier Rupérez, executive director, counterterrorism committee, the United Nations; Thomas Von Essen, former New York City Fire Commissioner; Ami Pedahzur, an associate professor at the University of Texas, Austin and a senior fellow at the National Security Studies Center at the University of Haifa; and Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzón, holder of the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Chair at NYU. The dialogue will be moderated by Garzón as well. He specializes in investigations on terrorism, crimes against humanity, and international organized crime.
The event will be in Spanish and English with simultaneous translation in both languages.
