New York University’s International Education Forum, a graduate student group in the International Education Program at The Steinhardt School of Education, will host a series of events the week of Nov. 14. This will highlight International Education Week, which is promoted by the Department of State and the Department of Education.
The cornerstone event is a photo contest helping to raise funds for Operation Smile, which provides free reconstructive surgery for children around the globe. Submitted pictures, under the theme, “Youth Around the World: Making Changes One Step at a Time,” will be displayed in Kimball Lounge (246 Greene Street, First Floor) on Tues., Nov. 15, 6 to 9 p.m., for judging. The contest, open to the NYU community, received more than 150 entries. The winning photograph will be revealed on Thurs., Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. during the closing reception at Kimball Lounge.
The week will also include a keynote address given by Alison Anderson of the Interagency Network for Education in Emergencies. Her address, “The Role of Education in Emergencies,” will be delivered on Mon., Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Lounge.
