New York University’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center will host “The Opportunities and Challenges of Education in Globalized Society” on Mon., Nov. 28, 6-8 p.m., at NYU’s Silver Center for Arts and Science (Hemmerdinger Hall, 100 Washington Square East). The participants include the following: Carmen Fariña, deputy chancellor at the New York City’s Department of Education; Lorenzo Gomez Morín, undersecretary of education, México; Marcelo Suárez-Orozco, professor of globalization and education at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Education; and Félix González Jiménez, chairman of the Department of Didactics and Scholarly Organization at the University Complutense (Madrid, Spain). The dialogue will be moderated by Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzón, holder of the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Chair at NYU. He specializes in investigations on terrorism, crimes against humanity, and international organized crime.

The event will be in Spanish and English with simultaneous translation in both languages.
