Works by Zvi Gotheiner, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, Stephen Petronio, and Johannes Wieland
The Second Avenue Dance Company/2005 will present its spring concert series featuring the work of four noted choreographersZvi Gotheiner, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, Stephen Petronio, and Johannes Wieland. The series will premiere two new works: Quiver, a pointe piece by Stephen Petronio; and sediment, by Tisch alumnus Johannes Wieland.
The program will also include reconstructions of Zvi Gotheiner’s Chairs (1992) and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane’s Continuous Replay (1977).
Additionally, four works by Tisch School of the Arts Department of Dance student choreographers Andrew Cowan, Tracy Lang, Jennifer Reiter, and Elaine Wang will be performed on a rotating basis during the series.
The six performance series begins on Thursday, March 31 and runs through Monday, April 4, 2005. Curtain is 8 p.m. There will be one matinee on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. Admission is $10; seniors and students with I.D., $5. All proceeds will benefit the Tisch Dance Scholarship Fund. The Second Avenue Dance Company/2005 comprises both graduate and undergraduate students in their last year of training in the Department of Dance at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Linda Tarnay is chair of the Department of Dance.
