New York University will host “Torture, Truth, and Survival,” a panel discussion that includes NYU law professor Karen Greenberg, co-editor of The Torture Papers (Cambridge, 2005), a documented record of how the Bush Administration’s policy of torture in the questioning of prisoners evolved, on Wed., April 20 at 7 p.m. (King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center [53 Washington Square South, betw. Sullivan and Thompson Sts.]). Other panelists for the event will be: Scott Long, director of Human Rights Watch’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights Project; Sue Grand, faculty and training supervisor, NYU postdoctoral program in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis; and Leanh Nguyen, psychologist/psychology supervisor, NYU/Bellevue Program for Torture Survivors. The panel will be moderated by Shireen R.K. Patell, an NYU visiting assistant professor in English and German.
