NYU and 9th Precinct Community Council Host 16th Annual Holiday Party For The Children Of The Lower East Side WHAT: New York University and the 9th Precinct Community Council will host hundreds of children, moms and dads at the 16th Annual Holiday Party for the Children of the Lower East Side. 1200 children will receive donated toys and winter clothing, have a chance to meet Santa and enjoy light refreshments. NYU’s Administrative Management Council’s annual Holiday Toy Drive collects hundreds of donated toys each year from around the University for distribution to the children of the Lower East Side.

WHO: 9th Precinct Community Council; NYU Administrative Council and Government and Community Relations volunteers; NYU cheerleaders, dancers and NYU’s mascot Bobcat; NYU College of Dentistry’s Dental Van; and of course, Santa

WHEN: Saturday, December 21, 2002; 9am to 11am

Nice visuals as children meet Santa and receive gifts. Additionally, the NYU College of Dentistry will be on hand with its “Smiling Faces Going Places” dental van to provide free dental check-ups for children.

Entertainment is provided by NYU students’ music groups, cheerleaders and dance teams. The event is sponsored by the 9th Precinct Community Council, NYU’s Administrative Management Council and NYU’s Office of Government and Community Relations.
