The donation, announced recently by NYU Dean of the Libraries Carol Mandel, was presented as a welcome gift to the new dean, who joined NYU in late April of 1999.

Mrs. Bobst is the widow of Elmer Holmes Bobst, whose initial gift enabled the creation of the NYU Bobst Library, the central library in the NYU system.
