* PLANNING ADVISORY *

Hundreds of Children to March Around Washington Square Park In the 9th Annual Greenwich Village Children’s Halloween Parade WHAT: New York University and Manhattan Community Board 2 will host the 9th Annual Greenwich Village Children’s Halloween Parade. Hundreds of children and their parents will march around the park led by the NYU Pipes and Drums, and then enter the park to receive candy and treats and see live entertainment.

WHEN: Sunday, October 31, 1999, at 3:00 pm

WHERE: The parade begins at the Arch in Washington Square Park

NOTE TO PLANNING AND ASSIGNMENT EDITORS: This parade provides very good, cute shots of kids in costumes accompanied by parents. Their march around the park – which is during daylight hours – is a good visual. If you are looking for cute kids stuff to go along with coverage of the adult parade’s revelry, this may be what you’re looking for.

The parade is held in cooperation with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, McDonald Restaurants of Greenwich Village, K-mart, the Village Alliance, and the NoHo Business Improvement District
